GHS Board grants $2M loan-A Viewpoint
The Galt Senior high school board approved plans for that district to gain access to $2M for that completing a CTE building at Liberty Ranch Senior High School. Only issue is, they don’t require it. The college is made for 1600-1800 students. there presently are 600 students, nowhere near capacity. Why borrow to construct? That question includes this answer “to supply one premier program to LRHS”. exactly what the? we now have all students which are taking classes only at that school together with Galt Senior High School. This same premier program already is available at GHS, why visit? it really comes lower to satisfying the Ag. Dept. Nevermind that we will reduce our Capital Facilities fund to 35%, our Deferred maintenance fund lower to 50% and getting rid of necessary funding in the general plan to cover this loan. Nevermind that people take funds from our instructors and students to cover this loan. Nevermind this loan is taking a building that actually just one class will take advantage of. The brand new building will house classes that are already being trained in other empty classes and also the welding class. Granted, this welding class has specific needs, but could be met through other means. We don’t need this building, but who cares. Whatever Ag wants, Ag get.s. Yeah, yeah, keep convinced that, we’re doing the work for the children. The children in blue jackets that’s. Everybody else may take a hike.
